Our 45^th class reunion is now history.

      Held on August 23, 2008 at the Lobster Trap Restaurant, over 75 graduates of the Class of ’63 plus their guests gathered for an evening of fun, laughter, hugs, joy and surprise at seeing old friends, sharing dinner, dancing, and just talking.

      There were more wrinkles, more grey hair, little or no hair, a few extra pounds, some slower movement, occasional non-recognition until one leaned in for a close look at the name tags (there was a LOT of leaning in), but after 45 years, what can you expect?

      Through the efforts and support of several people, this was the most successful and fun reunion ever. Lori Renshaw (Colby), Rose Marie Cheveres, Phil Corpus, Jo Grace, Joel Wiesner, Elaine Allmen, and Sharon Dawson all put their heads together for this event.

      It had the second highest attendance of all the Class of ’63 reunions, with 123 attendees.  Quite an accomplishment, considering most class reunions experience declining attendance with each successive event.

      A special thanks to Pete Schwieder, who brought his CD projector so we could show photos of the demolition of the old Oxnard High School campus.

      There were plenty of door prizes given away, a DJ who played 60’s music, and a dance floor that stayed full (it was surprising how many still had the moves).

     Those who missed our 45^th Class Reunion, missed a great time.

      We’re looking forward to the 50^th Class Reunion and want to make it THE biggest and best ever.   Plan on being there!
